Video Codec Performance Engineer

General Summary:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of systems engineering
• Masters degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of systems engineering
• Knowledge & Experience in video coding standards such as VVC, AV1, HEVC, H.264/AVC, VP9.
• Hands on Knowledge & Experience in Video Codec Design and implementation with in-depth understanding of encoder algorithms and decoder flow
• Solid C\C++, SystemC programming skill.
• Strong communication skills
• Good analytical and problem solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Video Codec system modeling and TLM modeling experience
• Video Codec hardware performance modeling and SOC performance modeling experience
• DDR subsystem, NOC, on-chip cache and system cache modeling or design experience

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Leverages advanced Video Codec Engineering knowledge and experience to research and develop highly critical video codec HW
• Performs highly complex architecture, standard study, algorithm and feature decomposition to drive requirements and specifications for hardware development.
• Ensures advanced KPIs, systems performance, and area and power metrics are met.
• Drives the triage of highly complex problems to determine root causes and addresses the issue.
• Facilitates collaboration across organizations (e.g., design, verification, system, firmware, software, SOC and power) and customers to analyze customer product requirements for new video IP architecture or the modification of an existing design for all addressable markets including mobile, XR, automotive, IoT, and others.
• Writes detailed technical documentation and feature descriptions for highly complex projects to guide users and/or customers to use or implement output

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor''s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience
• ORMaster''s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience
• ORPhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience
