Senior 5G RAN Tester

Job Title: Senior Test Engineer

Location:

5+ Years experience in Wireless Telecommunications or Networking background having hands on experience in LTE/5G NR Layer-1, Layer-2 and Layer-3 protocol software quality assurance.

Education:

B. E/ B. S/ B. Tech/ M.S/ME/MTech in EC/EE/CS or any other equivalent degree.

As a Senior Test Engineer, you will be responsible for driving the quality assurance of 5G NR protocol features and different nodes of 5G. You will perform the validation of high technology solutions within the radio access network of the 5G mobile communication system. You will work closely with our customers and your colleagues in agile Scrum teams worldwide to validate and improve solutions for the future.

• Contribution in end-to-end testing Cycle for the specified entities Test Strategy/Design, Test case preparation, Test Execution, Test automation.
• A strong individual contributor with extensive Integration and Verification /Feature and Performance testing experience in Wireless Domain 5G / 4G.

Skills Required:

• Candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of LTE/5G NR 3GPP Specification - specifically protocols like 5G RRM/L1/L2/XNAP/X2AP/NGAP.
• Must have experience in debugging complex gNodeB issues, log file analysis etc.
• Candidate should Well verse with 5G call flows/use cases and in depth understanding of Layer1 - Layer2 interfaces and Layer2 - Layer3 interfaces
• Candidate must have knowledge of networking protocols like TCP/IP, UDP, SCTP etc.
• Proficient in test methodologies, tools, and simulators at the system and node level.
• Lead and manage the testing lifecycle from test planning, design, to execution and reporting.
• Plans, designs, and execute test case based on the 3GPP release features.
• Knowledge of IPERF, Wireshark and UE Simulators such as TMA/TM500 (Viavi), QXDM, Amari soft is desirable

• Programming skills:

  C++ (target), Java and Python (testers), VsCode, Git, Gerrit

• Build systems:

  Bazel

• Cloud Basics:

  Understanding key cloud concepts, including containers, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures, is crucial.

• Domain Knowledge in CloudRAN:

  Specific knowledge around CloudRAN implementations, such as virtualized Distributed Units (vDU), RAN technologies, and connectivity protocols, is required
• Mentoring juniors and providing them with guidance on best practices and methodologies.
• Strong understanding of 3GPP radio access standardization of LTE/5G NR, ORAN split architecture (preferably Radio protocols), including algorithms and protocols.
• Proficient in using version control tools such as Git, Gerrit, and project management tools like Jira.
• The candidate should have experience of agile ways of working.
• Experience from cloud technologies like microservices, containers, etc. is also a merit.
• Candidate should have effective communication skills and enjoy working in a dynamic and global environment.
