Responsibilities

  • 1. Share the management vision with the school community in establishing long term plans and implementing them with fixed timelines.
  • Provide day to day academic leadership for curriculum transaction to implement consistency in attaining high standards in education.
  • Delegate for Principal as required.
  • Plan and develop teacher skills appropriate to all styles of learning among students; encourage teachers to use variety of resources and make them available to them.
  • Develop and monitor systems to measure expected learning outcomes and set benchmarks. Develop and review systems for testing and evaluation.
  • Create a healthy environment of competition among students in academics and co-curricular activities;
  • Monitor discipline of the school.
  • Plan schedules for staff meetings and orientations. Prepare agenda well in advance and circulate for better clarity and transparency.
  • Develop systems to record meetings and create strategies to follow up.
  • Create an action plan and self-evaluation document based on the inspection criteria.
  • Staff allocation in consultation with the Principal. Staff and classroom timetables.
  • New parents and students’ orientations. Monitor the performance of new students. Keep the parents in the loop about their children’s progress.
  • Arrange training for all new academic staff and monitor their performance.
  • Interact well with the HODs to raise standards. Identify talents among staff and recommend to the Principal for suitable placements within the system;
  • Follow the procedures of staff selection and assist the Principal in careful selection of staff and their retention.
  • Provide a fair and impartial treatment to all staff and students thereby creating a sense of openness to the school community.
  • Create a culture of pastoral care at all levels to maintain high morale of the entire school community.
  • Create excellent communication with the parents, students and staff. Help the Principal and the senior leaders with strategies to get maximum involvement of parents in their children’s education process and school events.
  • Develop community relationship and to create and project good image of the school. Create awareness for self, staff and students to act as ambassadors of the school in all interactions with the community.
  • Assist in conducting student, staff and parent surveys and help enhancing the effectiveness of the learning program based on the feedback.
  • Attend, conduct, facilitate staff/students/parents’ meetings.
  • Conduct performance appraisals as assigned and identify variation in performance of staff. Provide opportunities for Professional development.
  • Plan and devise strategies to solve complaints from all stakeholders.
  • Schedule educational trips, excursions for students, staff outings etc.
  • Conduct curriculum review meetings and monitor the development of curriculum.
  • Create textbook committees, review books in advance and place the order for books latest by March every year.
  • Support school budgeting by Procuring detailed plans from various departments.
  • Conduct audits of departments and monitor their progress.
  • Plan, conduct and analyze surveys for students, parents and staff.
  • Ensure safe and healthy physical and virtual environments for all by collaborating with those who are in charge of these areas.
  • Collaborate with relevant staff members for the planning and effective and timely execution of school events.
  • Ensure that any content which is used for presenting to students, parents, staff or visitors is accurate and error free.
  • Ensure that school meets all academic requirements set by SPEA and all other relevant authorities.
