VP of India Operations

Type: Full-time

Reports to: CEO / Head of Global Ops

We work with some of the largest and most respected retailers in North America and Europe, and we're backed by people who understand what it takes to build category-defining platforms. This role presents an opportunity to help build our India operations from the ground up, the right way.

The Role

We are setting up our India office and need an experienced leader who can oversee people, processes, and delivery. This is not a maintenance role it’s about building something new from the ground up. You’ll be responsible for recruiting talented individuals, shaping the culture, and ensuring teams are aligned and productive.

(SQL, QA, Python, or database experience)

Responsibilities

  • Team leadership

    : Build an engaged, accountable team. Address performance challenges quickly and fairly.
  • Execution and delivery

    : Set up clear processes and ways of working so that the India team delivers on global goals. Partner closely with engineering and QA leaders.
  • Recruitment and onboarding

    : Work with global leadership to hire, onboard, and integrate new employees into the company culture.
  • Culture-building

    : Create an environment of trust, ownership, and collaboration across time zones.
  • Mentorship

    : Be the go-to leader in India for coaching, problem-solving, and supporting career growth.

Qualifications

  • 8–12 years of experience in operations, delivery management, or site leadership
  • Technical grounding (Database/SQL/QA/Python), enough to engage with teams credibly and lead hands-on when needed
  • Previous experience setting up or scaling teams in India for an international company (startups or mid-sized companies preferred)
  • Strong judgment and communication skills; ability to motivate, resolve conflicts, and manage with clarity
  • Familiarity with hiring, performance management, compliance, and hybrid work models
  • Comfortable working directly with global leadership and bridging cultural differences
