About the Role

Treasury Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Indian manufacturing operations

Key Responsibilities

1. Treasury Operations & Cash Flow Management

• Manage daily cash flow activities, including

  bank transactions, fund positioning, and vendor payments

  .
• Support short-term cash flow forecasting and ensure fund availability for plant operations.
• Liaise with corporate treasury for fund transfers, inter-company settlements, and banking requirements.

2. LC Management & Documentation

• Prepare and process

  Letter of Credit (LC) documentation

  for imports, domestic purchases, and capital equipment procurement.
• Coordinate with

  banks, suppliers, procurement, and accounts payable teams

  to ensure timely issuance and closure of LCs.
• Ensure all LC documents comply with

  UCP 600, FEMA, and RBI guidelines

  .
• Maintain accurate LC registers and documentation for audit and review.
• Track and monitor

  LC utilization, expiry, and renewals

  , and send

  LC limit utilization emails

  to relevant departments and management on a periodic basis.

3. Audit & Compliance

• Maintain complete documentation and reconciliations for

  treasury and LC transactions

  for internal and statutory audits.
• Ensure adherence to

  internal financial controls (IFC)

  and company treasury policies.
• Support auditors with required schedules, confirmations, and supporting documents.

4. Reporting & Communication

• Prepare

  daily, weekly, and monthly treasury reports

  (cash position, LC utilization, bank balances, forex exposure, etc.) for review by plant finance head and corporate treasury.
• Circulate

  LC limit updates and utilization status emails

  to procurement, finance, and management teams.
• Escalate potential issues (e.g., limit exhaustion, delays, or compliance risks) to leadership promptly.

5. Process Improvement & ERP Systems

• Support automation and digitization of treasury and LC processes.
• Ensure accurate recording of treasury transactions in the

  ERP system (SAP / Oracle / JDE)

  .
• Contribute to developing and updating

  SOPs for treasury activities

  at the plant.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of

  Letter of Credit (LC), Bank Guarantees (BG), and trade finance documentation

  .
• Hands-on experience in

  treasury operations and cash management

  in a

  manufacturing setup

  .
• Sound understanding of

  Indian banking practices, FEMA/RBI compliance

  , and LC regulations.
• Proficiency in

  ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / JDE)

  and

  advanced MS Excel

  .
• Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working with strict deadlines.

Qualifications & Certifications

• Mandatory:

  Chartered Accountant (CA) / Cost Accountant (ICWA) / MBA (Finance)

• Preferred:

• Certification in

  Treasury Management

  or

  Trade Finance (e.g., IIBF, ACT)

• Familiarity with

  Treasury Management Systems (TMS)
