Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Verification & Validation Engineer (5 to 10 years) with a strong background in testing

linear/rotary motion systems

, electromechanical assemblies, and integrated hardware/firmware/software products. This individual will lead V&V planning, execution, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration to validate complex automation platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the V&V lifecycle for hardware, firmware, and software components of automation products.
  • Develop comprehensive system-level test plans focused on linear/rotary motion systems, precision mechanics, actuators, and robotic subsystems.
  • Perform performance, functional, reliability, endurance, and environmental testing.
  • Design test setups, fixtures, and instrumentation required for motion validation (encoders, motors, drivers, load systems, etc.).
  • Execute validation tests related to motion accuracy, backlash, repeatability, speed profiles, and load performance.
  • Document test procedures, protocols, and reports with clear traceability.
  • Identify defects, conduct root-cause analysis, and collaborate with engineering teams to define corrective actions.
  • Validate subsystem and full-system integrations spanning mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software components.
  • Drive continuous improvement in test methodologies, automation, and coverage.
  • Ensure V&V compliance with internal quality standards and any relevant regulatory expectations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics, or related engineering fields.
  • 510 years of hands-on V&V experience, specifically with electromechanical or automation products.
  • Strong, demonstrable experience working with linear and rotary motion systems including motors, actuators, encoders, motion controllers, and precision mechanics.
  • Proven ability to design and execute system-level and subsystem-level validation tests.
  • Experience with data acquisition tools, test instrumentation, and root-cause analysis methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical tolerances, kinematics, motion profiles, and system dynamics.
  • Ability to read/interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and firmware/software specifications.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with robotics, automation machines, CNC/gantry systems, or medical devices.
  • Basic abilities in scripting (Python/MATLAB) for test automation or data analysis.
  • Familiarity with DVP&R, FMEA, ISO standards, or regulated product environments.
