About the Role

Vascular Interventional Radiologist

 

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Procedural Duties

vascular and non-vascular interventional radiology procedures

o Angiography, angioplasty, and stent placement

o Thrombolysis and thrombectomy

o Embolization procedures

o Central venous access

o IVC filter placement and retrieval

o Peripheral vascular interventions

CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and X-rays

• Evaluate patients pre- and post-procedure, ensuring safe and optimal care outcomes.

• Participate in emergency on-call rotations as required.

Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with vascular surgeons, cardiologists, radiologists, and other specialists in integrated patient management.

• Provide expert guidance on interventional procedures to referring physicians and clinical staff.

• Document clinical findings, treatment plans, and patient progress accurately and timely.

Quality, Compliance & Safety

clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines

• Contribute to departmental quality improvement initiatives, audits, and training sessions.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of interventional radiology advancements and best practices.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Radiology

Interventional Radiology

Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience

• Valid medical license and eligibility for registration in the Caribbean region (support may be provided for credentialing).

• Proficiency in interpreting diagnostic imaging and performing image-guided interventions.

• Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and patient management skills.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

 

Preferred Skills

• Experience with advanced endovascular techniques.

• Familiarity with hybrid operating rooms and state-of-the-art IR equipment.

• Commitment to continuous learning and teaching (if applicable).

• Culturally sensitive and adaptable to working in a diverse Caribbean healthcare environment.
