US Retail Accountant

As US Retail Accountant, you are responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing and analyzing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations within a retail business. They handle tasks such as sales reconciliation, inventory management, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax preparation.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Categorize and track all expenses and income in QuickBooks Online2. Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly3.Match customer payments with deposits from Stripe, Square, or POS systems4. Process payroll and ensure proper tax withholding5. Track and file state/local sales tax returns (multi-state if applicable)6. Organize books for tax prep and year-end reporting7. Maintain accurate financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, etc.)

Requirements:

a) 2+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience (retail/e-commerce preferred)
b) Expert in QuickBooks Online
c) Attention to detail, organized, and reliabled) Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Preferable:

Familiarity with Shopify, Amazon, or other retail POS systems

Knowledge of U.S. sales tax and payroll compliance will be an advantage

Experience working with U.S.-based retail or product-based businesses
