Uro-Onco Surgeon
to join our multidisciplinary oncology team. The ideal candidate will possess advanced training in urology through an M.Ch. (Urology) and specialized fellowship in uro-oncology. The role requires proficiency in diagnosing and surgically managing genitourinary malignancies including kidney, bladder, prostate, testicular, and penile cancers. Requirements
Key Responsibilities
:
- Diagnose and treat complex genitourinary cancers using advanced surgical and minimally invasive techniques (laparoscopic and robotic procedures).
- Perform a wide range of uro-oncological surgeries, including radical prostatectomy, radical nephrectomy, partial nephrectomy, cystectomy, orchiectomy, and penile cancer surgeries.
- Collaborate with oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and other specialists to provide integrated cancer care.
- Evaluate patients through detailed history, clinical examinations, diagnostic imaging, and biopsy interpretation.
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and contribute to individualized treatment planning.
- Engage in pre-operative planning, post-operative care, and long-term follow-up to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Supervise and mentor junior doctors, residents, and urology fellows.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, techniques, and technologies in uro-oncology and surgical oncology.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all surgical and clinical procedures using hospital electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Participate in departmental audits, quality improvement initiatives, and research/publications related to urology and oncology.
- Adhere to institutional protocols, patient safety norms, and ethical standards of clinical practice.
Required Skills & Competencies
:
- Board-certified M.Ch. in Urology with a completed fellowship in Uro-Oncology/Surgical Oncology.
- Minimum 5 years of post-fellowship clinical and surgical experience (up to 15 years preferred).
- Strong hands-on surgical expertise in robotic, laparoscopic, and open urological oncologic procedures.
- Clinical acumen in managing early and advanced-stage genitourinary malignancies.
- Familiarity with clinical staging, TNM classification, and evidence-based cancer treatment protocols.
- Proficient in patient counseling, shared decision-making, and handling complex treatment scenarios with empathy.
- Excellent communication, team collaboration, and leadership skills in a multi-specialty setup.
- Strong commitment to continuous learning, clinical research, and professional development.
Preferred Experience
:
- Prior work experience in tertiary care hospitals, oncology centers, or academic medical institutions.
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals or participation in uro-oncology conferences.
