Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled Purchase Manager with strong experience in international procurement, sourcing, and large-scale local buying of food or FMCG products. The role also includes responsibility for analysing Procurement, Sales, Logistics, Customer, Item, and Supply Chain data for a leading procurement and supply company based in Mumbai.

Additionally, the candidate will conduct global market research specially on Chinas export trends to identify new product and market opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong analytical and numerical skills.

• Advanced Excel; Power BI/Tableau required; SQL preferred.

• Experience with procurement, sales, logistics, inventory, and supply chain datasets.

• Knowledge of HS Codes and international trade databases (UN Comtrade, DGFT, Trade map, China Customs).

• Strong research and competitive analysis skills.

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

• Problem-solving mindset with ability to generate actionable insights.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Commerce, Economics, Statistics, Data Science or related fields.

• 5-8 years of experience in purchasing + 2-5 years of analytics experience (combined or overlapping).

• Experience in global trading, import/export, FMCG, retail, or supply chain analytics is preferred.

• Exposure to global trade data analysis is an added advantage.

Procurement & International Purchasing:

• Handle sourcing and buying for exports or imports across multiple product categories.

• Manage large-scale local purchasing of food/FMCG products.

• Work with overseas suppliers, negotiate pricing, MOQ, lead time, and commercial terms.

• Track supplier performance, pricing trends, and procurement efficiency.

Procurement & Supply Chain Analytics:

• Analyze procurement data: purchase cycle, supplier performance, pricing, MOQ, lead time.

• Evaluate supply chain KPIs: OTIF, inventory turnover, fill rate, forecasting accuracy, stock coverage.

• Identify gaps in supply planning and recommend process improvements and cost-saving measures.

Sales & Customer Analytics:

• Analyse regional and segment-wise sales trends and product-wise performance.

• Prepare dashboards for sales performance, ABV/ABQ, forecasting, contribution margin, and item movement.

• Conduct churn analysis, customer lifetime value, buying behavior, and profitability analysis.

Logistics & Operations Reporting:

• Track logistics KPIs such as freight cost, shipping timelines, demurrage, transit days, landed cost, and shipping efficiency.

• Identify opportunities to reduce transportation cost and optimize warehouse & delivery performance

China Export Market Research (Critical Role):

• Study Chinas export trends across relevant product categories.

• Track HS Codes, export volumes, pricing, key importing countries, and emerging markets.

• Identify potential products and new markets for Sanzi China.

• Prepare monthly reports on trade trends, regulations, market risks, and competitor activities.

Reporting & Dashboarding

• Build automated dashboards (Power BI / Tableau / Excel / Google Data Studio).

• Present weekly/monthly KPI reports to senior management.
