Role Overview: Flex is seeking a Developer-IT to join their extraordinary team in Chennai. As a Developer-IT at Flex, your typical day will involve developing business solutions in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring products meet customer requirements and function properly, conducting solution testing, partnering with business stakeholders to select appropriate technology vendors, troubleshooting and researching codes for errors, working on database performance optimization, consulting with engineering staff, addressing application security breaches, and contributing to the entire development process. Additionally, you will maintain and upgrade existing systems, research new technologies, write and maintain documentation, compile code, design graphical user interfaces, run tests for automated execution, assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), provide technical assistance, train end users, conduct technical presentations, install and test upgrades, and prepare technical reports and manuals. Key Responsibilities: - Develop business solutions by collaborating with stakeholders to devise implementation strategies - Ensure products meet customer requirements and function properly - Conduct solution testing and quality assurance before handing over to other teams for testing and user sign-off - Partner with business stakeholders to select appropriate technology vendors and applications - Troubleshoot and research codes to identify errors and make necessary revisions - Optimize database performance in coordination with database administrators - Consult with engineering staff to evaluate and develop software-machine interfaces - Collaborate with application security team to address and fix application security breaches - Contribute to the entire development process in partnership with solution architects - Maintain and upgrade existing systems - Research and incorporate new technologies into system solutions - Write and maintain documentation to describe program development, coding, testing, changes, and corrections - Compile code into programs, design graphical user interfaces, and interface with other systems - Create and run tests for automated execution, troubleshoot codes, and revise programs - Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and provide technical assistance - Train end users on program usage and conduct technical presentations - Install and test upgrades of externally developed application components - Prepare technical reports, memorandum, and instructional manuals as documentation of program development - Upgrade systems and correct errors post-implementation - May provide time and cost estimates for projects and review project proposals Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent systems experience - 1-3 years of systems experience - Knowledge of application development, procedures, utilities, and job control languages preferred - Operations and technical skills with understanding of Flex's functional standards - General knowledge of functional concepts and Flex policies and procedures - Awareness of functional impact on work processes and other functions - Proficiency in Office Skills, typing, telephones, computer languages, word processor, spreadsheet (PC), software, computer troubleshooting - Working knowledge of functional concepts and Flex policies and procedures - Knowledge of multiple functional technologies/processes, industries, or functions - Ability to work in teams using Software Control Repository tools (TFS, Git) - Understanding of Object Oriented Programming and SOLID principles Company Details: Flex is a diversified manufacturing partner that collaborates with market-leading brands to design, build, and deliver innovative products that enhance the world.
