Role Overview
As a Payroll Executive, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processes for multiple UK-
based clients within a bureau/outsourcing environment. The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and
strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including statutory deductions, RTI submissions, and pension auto-
enrolment. You will ensure all payrolls are processed on time and in compliance with HMRC regulations.
Principal Responsibilities:
• Processing end-to-end payroll for multiple clients on a weekly, fortnightly, and monthly basis
• Managing starters, leavers, salary changes, statutory payments (SMP, SSP, SPP, etc.), and deductions
• Ensuring compliance with UK payroll legislation, HMRC requirements, RTI (Real Time Information)
submissions, and pension submissions
• Preparing and distributing payslips, P45s, P60s, and year-end reports
• Reconciling payroll reports and ensuring accuracy before final submission
• Handling client payroll queries promptly and professionally
• Assisting with payroll software updates, testing, and system improvement
• Liaising with HMRC, pension providers, and third-party vendors as required
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• 24 years of experience in a UK payroll bureau or payroll outsourcing environment
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, PAYE, NIC, pension, and RTI
• Proficiency with payroll software (experience in BrightPay, Staffalogy or similar systems preferred).
• Strong numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Ability to handle multiple client payrolls in a fast-paced bureau environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
• Strong organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
• Proficiency in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
