Strong hands-on experience with UDM components (CCRC, CCSM, CCES, CCDM) and Ericsson Cloud Core Suite.
Solid understanding of 5G Core / EPC architecture, UDM call flows, and Diameter protocol. Experience in CaaS / Kubernetes / CCD deployment, Helm charts, and cluster management. Familiarity with Ericsson Cloud Infrastructure (ECI) and EVFNM-based lifecycle management. Integration experience with HSS/HLR, PCRF, IMS, and subscriber data management. Other Technical Skills Proficient in Linux (RHEL/CentOS), scripting (Bash/Python), and cloud-native tooling. Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and container orchestration best practices. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Effective communication and documentation capabilities. Ability to work independently and lead upgrade windows during maintenance windows or blackout periods.
Perform end-to-end upgrade of UDM components: CCRC, CCSM, CCES, and CCDM, including validation, configuration migration, and service cutover.
Drive the upgrade via redeployment or ISSU approach based on product compatibility and customer environment. Coordinate version compatibility checks, rollback planning, and delta validation before and after upgrade. Integrate UDM components with surrounding nodes: HLR, HSS, UDR, UDSF, AUSF, PCRF. Validate interworking with Diameter, LDAP, and HTTP/REST interfaces. Execute functional and performance test cases post-upgrade using Ericsson validation tools (e.g., EVFNM, CCD CLI, REST APIs). Utilize automation scripts (e.g., Ansible, Bash) for health checks, node readiness, and service restarts. Handle containerized deployments in Ericsson CaaS / CCD-based environments using Helm/K8s tools. Work with backup/restore tools for cluster and DB safety before upgrade initiation. Proactively identify and troubleshoot upgrade-related issues across nodes, clusters, or interfaces. Provide logs and RCA documentation for post-upgrade issues (connectivity, schema migration, data sync). Fine-tune system parameters and cluster configurations for optimized post-upgrade performance. Prepare and review MOPs (Method of Procedure), CRs (Change Requests), and deployment plans. Maintain technical documentation, design changes, and interface control documents. Support compliance with security and audit controls during the upgrade. Coordinate with delivery teams, customer operations, and global product support for successful upgrade execution. Provide regular progress updates to internal and external stakeholders. Participate in governance calls, issue triage, and handover sessions.
