Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Conducting

    Classes:

    Tutor will teach children aged 9+ in subjects like Math, Science, English, and other subjects, tailoring lesson plans to match the child's academic level and school board. In addition, if a child wishes to explore other subjects, the tutor will support them in doing so.
  • Use

    of

    Tools:

    Tutors will incorporate engaging teaching tools such as visual aids, props, and digital platforms like Google Classroom for online sessions with discharged children.
  • Virtual

    Engagement:

    The tutor will maintain contact with returnee children through virtual platforms once they return home, offering ongoing support to keep them motivated and engaged in their studies.
  • Observations

    and

    Feedback:

    The tutor will observe classes, maintain a daily class roster, and provide consistent feedback on student progress.
  • Engagement

    Beyond

    Classes:

    When unavailable for direct teaching, tutors will work with the Centre SPOC to pre-plan and assign meaningful academic tasks such as assignments, research projects, or theme-based activities, ensuring the children remain engaged and learning.
  • Fostering

    Growth

    and

    Critical

    Thinking:

    Tutors will contribute to the academic growth of students, fostering a growth mindset and developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaboration:

    Tutors will work closely with parents and staff to monitor and improve student performance and ensure continuous academic progress.
  • Occasionally, the Tutor may be delegated some education related tasks for older children during annual events such as the Infection prevention week or the Educational Annual Events.

Requirement & Skills

  • Previous experience as a tutor or in a similar educational role minimum 5 years
  • Familiarity with Social and Emotional Learning skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively supervise and engage with children
  • Patience, flexibility, positivity, consistency, dependability, and teamwork
  • Ability to accept and incorporate feedback constructively
  • Fluent in English speaking and writing
  • B.Ed. with compulsory experience of teaching children up to 12 year and above children (ICSE board).
