Job Description

Position Summary:
A Tour and Travel Consultant specializes in creating customized travel experiences by organizing tours, vacation packages, and travel itineraries. This role requires excellent knowledge of travel destinations, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to manage bookings and logistics efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Consultation:
  • Meet with clients to discuss their travel preferences, budgets, and requirements.
  • Provide expert advice on destinations, accommodations, and travel activities.
  • Tour and Package Planning:
  • Design tailored travel packages, including flights, accommodations, transportation, and activities.
  • Offer a variety of pre-designed tour packages to suit different customer needs.
  • Negotiate and coordinate with tour operators, hotels, airlines, and other service providers.
  • Booking and Reservation Management:
  • Book flights, hotels, and other travel services on behalf of clients.
  • Ensure timely confirmation of all reservations and manage changes or cancellations as needed.
  • Itinerary Creation:
  • Develop detailed travel itineraries, including schedules, activities, and contact information for services.
  • Ensure itineraries are clear, accurate, and aligned with client expectations.
  • Customer Support:
  • Address client inquiries before, during, and after their trips.
  • Provide support for unexpected issues, such as travel delays, cancellations, or emergencies.
  • Market Research and Promotion:
  • Stay updated on popular destinations, travel trends, and new attractions.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote tour packages through social media, websites, and advertisements.
  • Budget Management:
  • Work within clients' budgets to create cost-effective yet enjoyable travel experiences.
  • Provide transparent pricing and communicate any additional costs upfront.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
  • Ensure all travel bookings comply with local and international travel regulations.
  • Assist clients with travel insurance, visa applications, and necessary documentation.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Degree, Diploma or equivalent (a degree in Tourism, Hospitality, or related fields is a plus).
  • Experience:
  • Prior experience in travel consultancy or the tourism industry is preferred.
  • Familiarity with travel booking systems (e.g., Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo).
  • Skills:
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in travel planning software and office tools.
  • Knowledge of global destinations and travel trends.
  • Multilingual skills are an advantage.
