Transport Specialist

As a Transport Incharge at Bloomingdale International School in Vijayawada, you will play a crucial role in leading and streamlining the school's transport services. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure punctuality, student safety, and operational excellence on a daily basis. In this role, you will be in charge of managing the entire transport system of the school, including tasks such as route planning, vehicle maintenance, driver supervision, and compliance with safety regulations. Your focus will be on providing a smooth and secure daily commute for both students and staff. Key Responsibilities: Transport Planning & Coordination: - Plan and manage daily transport schedules to align with academic timings. - Maintain updated lists of student transport users. - Optimize bus routes for both time efficiency and safety. Vehicle Operations & Maintenance: - Oversee regular servicing, inspections, and repairs of school vehicles. - Ensure cleanliness, readiness, and fitness of all vehicles. - Monitor fuel usage and maintain vehicle logbooks. Driver & Staff Supervision: - Lead and supervise drivers and transport assistants. - Prepare duty rosters, monitor attendance, and enforce professional conduct. - Conduct regular training sessions on safety practices and professional behavior. Safety & Compliance: - Ensure full compliance with RTO guidelines and school safety protocols. - Handle emergencies such as breakdowns and accidents swiftly and effectively. - Conduct periodic safety checks and drills to maintain a safe environment. Communication & Documentation: - Address parent queries related to transport services. - Submit regular reports to the Operations Manager. - Maintain accurate records of licenses, permits, and other necessary documentation. The ideal candidate for this role should have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in school transport management. Knowledge of local transport regulations, vehicle upkeep, strong leadership abilities, organizational skills, proficiency in MS Excel and GPS tracking tools, as well as excellent communication skills with a proactive mindset are essential.
