Job Description

As a Transport Associate, your main purpose will be to process and control the domestic UK collections and deliveries efficiently by utilizing company drivers and subcontractors. You will be responsible for ensuring timely recovery and delivery of all shipments according to the schedules. Developing strong working relationships with subcontractors, handling facilities, and other departments within the London branch will be crucial. Additionally, you will be required to maintain correct job process flow and file customs entries for record-keeping purposes. - Coordinate and monitor company drivers and subcontractors on a daily basis - Establish and maintain excellent relationships with internal departments, external suppliers, and overseas offices/agents - Provide support for special requirements and communicate effectively with the Customer Services Group - Generate daily reports on transport issues within the company network as per instructions from the Transport Manager - Manage receipt and processing of all shipments, including completion of shipment release paperwork - Advise on efficient logistic/distribution solutions while maximizing company profit - Record all Proof of Deliveries (PODs) in the in-house Maestro system within agreed timeframes - Demonstrate flexibility in working hours and provide additional driving support when necessary - Ability to adapt and handle enquiries and day-to-day issues effectively - Proficiency in safe unloading and loading of vehicles - Skill in route planning for daily collections/deliveries with good geographic knowledge - Understanding of Time Critical medicinal shipments - Attention to detail and ability to think quickly - Previous experience in warehouse and/or transport operations - Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with other departments - Experience in dealing with clients and managing interactions with Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) - Forklift experience preferred Marken, a wholly owned subsidiary of UPS and a critical part of UPS Healthcare, offers a state-of-the-art GMP-compliant depot network and logistic hubs for clinical drug product storage and distribution worldwide.
