Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Design and develop transmission components such as gears, shafts, housings, synchronizers, clutches, shift systems, and lubrication circuits.
Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software (Creo/CATIA/NX).
Perform gear calculations, bearing life calculations, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
Conduct packaging studies and ensure integration with engine, driveline, and chassis systems.
Collaborate with CAE teams for structural, thermal, and durability analysis.
Support prototype build, testing, and issue resolution.
Prepare BOMs, engineering documentation, and design reports.
Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
Ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO, AGMA, DIN) and company design guidelines.

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelors/Master’s degree in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering.
3–8 years of experience
in transmission or driveline design.
Strong understanding of gear design, kinematics, power flow, and lubrication.
Hands-on experience with
Creo
(or other CAD tools—customizable).
Good knowledge of GD&T, DFMEA, and DVP&R.
Familiarity with materials, heat treatment, manufacturing processes, and cost considerations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
