Tower Technician

Job Summary:

The Telecom Tower Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of telecom tower equipment. This role involves tower climbing, working with antennas, radios, RRUs, and transmission lines to ensure optimal network performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, upgrade, and maintain telecom equipment on towers, rooftops, and ground sites.
• Perform tower climbing for antenna installation, alignment, and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and repair issues related to RF equipment, cables, and transmission lines.
• Conduct periodic site inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Install and test coaxial cables, fiber cables, connectors, and grounding systems.
• Use testing tools such as VSWR meters, PIM testers, OTDR, and site master equipment.
• Assist in 4G/5G rollout, site integration, and equipment upgrades.
• Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
• Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, site conditions, and equipment used.
• Coordinate with engineers and field teams for site readiness and issue resolution.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience as a Tower Technician / Rigger / Telecom Field Technician.
• Ability to climb telecom towers safely (tower climbing certification preferred).
• Knowledge of RF systems, antennas, RRUs, and microwave equipment.
• Hands-on experience with coax/fiber cable installation and testing.
• Familiarity with tools such as OTDR, PIM testers, and VSWR meters.
• Basic understanding of electrical and electronic systems.
• Good physical fitness and ability to work at heights.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel and work outdoors in various conditions.
