Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Tendering Engineer with a strong background in the electrical T&D sector to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the tendering process for HV substation projects, ensuring the accurate preparation of technical and commercial proposals. This role requires a deep understanding of HV substation engineering, strong project management skills, and excellent communication abilities to liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams effectively.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Lead the tendering process for HV substation projects, from initial inquiry to proposal submission, ensuring compliance with client requirements and project specifications.
Conduct thorough technical and commercial assessments of project documents, including technical specifications, drawings, and contract terms and conditions.
Prepare comprehensive and accurate technical and commercial proposals, considering cost estimates, project timelines, resource requirements, and risk assessments.
Collaborate with various internal teams, including engineering, procurement, and project management, to gather necessary information and ensure timely and accurate tender submissions.
Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to clarify technical requirements, negotiate terms, and address any queries or concerns during the tendering process.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to ensure H&MV Engineering remains competitive and up to date with industry best practices.
Support the commercial team in contract negotiations and provide technical expertise to ensure successful project award.
Participate in tender review meetings to identify lessons learned, drive continuous improvement, and enhance the tendering process.

Qualifications & Skills:

Extensive experience in the electrical T&D sector, with a focus on HV substation projects.
In-depth knowledge of HV substation engineering principles, including substation design, equipment specifications, protection systems, and control systems.
Proven track record of leading and managing the tendering process for HV substation projects, including the preparation of technical and commercial proposals.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Sound commercial acumen, with the ability to understand and negotiate contract terms and conditions.
Proficient in using tendering tools and software, as well as MS Office applications.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical requirements.
A proactive approach to work, with a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality results.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business, or a related field.
Eight plus years of relevant experience in tendering, estimation, or proposal management
Additional certifications or training related to HV substation engineering, project management, or commercial negotiations is a plus.
