Position Overview

The Tekla Modeler will be responsible for creating accurate and detailed 3D models, general arrangement drawings, fabrication drawings, and erection drawings using Tekla Structures.
The role requires a deep understanding of steel structures, connections, and fabrication detailing, along with the ability to interpret engineering and architectural drawings precisely.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop detailed 3D models of structural steel components using Tekla Structures software.

· Prepare GA drawings, assembly drawings, part drawings, and NC/DXF files for fabrication.

· Coordinate with design engineers, project coordinators, and checkers to ensure project accuracy and compliance.

· Perform clash checks, material take-offs (BOQ), and revisions as per project changes.

· Ensure drawings comply with client standards, codes, and fabrication requirements.

· Review and update RFIs (Request for Information) with engineering clarifications.

· Manage drawing revisions and maintain version control within project documentation.

· Collaborate with Quality and Fabrication teams to resolve modeling or design issues.

· Maintain a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and timely delivery of outputs.

Required Skills & Competencies

· Proficiency in Tekla Structures (latest versions) with proven project experience.

· Strong knowledge of structural steel detailing, connections, and fabrication methods.

· Familiarity with AISC, BS, IS, and Euro codes (any one or more).

· Good understanding of project workflows, revision control, and documentation standards.

· Ability to read and interpret civil, mechanical, and architectural drawings.

· Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

· Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office tools preferred.

Qualification

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering.

Certification or formal training in Tekla Structures will be an added advantage.

Experience

Minimum: 3 years

Preferred Range: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in steel detailing and Tekla modeling within industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
