Job Description

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operation theatre, ensuring all equipment and instruments are sterilized and functioning properly

Support the surgical team by setting up the operating room with necessary tools and supplies, ensuring compliance with standard protocols

Monitor and manage the surgical inventory, ensuring all materials are available and organized for efficient operation

Aid surgeons and nurses during procedures by passing instruments and handling specimens with precision and care

Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and equipment usage, ensuring all records are up-to-date

Implement infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment and reduce the risk of contamination

Participate in the cleaning and restocking of the operation theatre post-procedure to prepare for the next surgeryRequired Qualifications

Diploma or certificate in Operation Theatre Technology or related field

Proven experience working in an operation theatre environment, preferably in a hospital setting

Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and sterilization procedures

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure a well-prepared surgical environment

Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt quickly to dynamic surgical settings

Effective communication skills to collaborate with a multidisciplinary surgical team

Basic understanding of medical terminology and surgical proceduresWorkplace Culture
