The Field Technician will work directly under the Technical Head to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and support agriculture technology products deployed in farms, polyhouses, hydroponic units, and field test sites.This role is hands-on and requires on-site work, travel, and strong technical troubleshooting ability
Educational Qualification
- Required: ITI / Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, Agricultural Engineering, or relevant technical trade.
- Preferred: Certification or hands-on experience in IoT devices, sensors, pumps, motors, or farm equipment.
Skills:
Core Technical Skills
- Basic knowledge of electronics, wiring, sensors, pumps, valves, motors, controllers.
- Ability to install and configure IoT devices, sensor nodes, automation units, and agri devices.
- Troubleshooting skills for hardware faults, wiring issues, device failures, and environmental problems.
- Understanding of hydroponics, irrigation lines, nutrient dosing systems, and farm layouts (training can be provided).
Tools & Practical Skills
- Hands-on with multimeter, crimping tools, soldering iron, power tools, PVC/pipe fittings.
- Ability to perform field repairs, replace components, and update firmware/software with guidance.
- Basic reporting/documentation (photos, issue logs, service reports).
Soft Skills
- Able to interact with farmers, field managers, and customers politely and professionally.
- Ability to follow SOPs, installation guidelines, and safety procedures.
- Must be comfortable working outdoors, traveling, and handling field challenges.
Responsibilities:
Installation & Deployment
- Install agri devices such as irrigation controllers, sensor systems, automation units, hydroponic setups, nutrient dosing units, climate controllers, etc.
- Perform wiring, plumbing connections, mounting, calibration, and power setup.
- Assist in pilot deployments and R&D field trials.
Maintenance & Service
- Conduct regular maintenance of deployed systems.
- Identify faults, perform repairs or replacements, and escalate complex issues to the Technical Head.
- Keep track of spare parts and ensure tools are maintained.
Field Testing & Validation
- Support the Technical Head in conducting field experiments and prototype tests.
- Collect data from the field: sensor readings, user observations, failure modes, and environmental factors.
- Report findings clearly with photos and logs.
Customer Interaction
- Train farmers/users on basic operation and care of devices.
- Provide first-level support and communicate issues effectively.
Minimum Experience
- 1- 3 years in field service, electronics repair, farm equipment installation, irrigation setup, or IoT device deployment.
Freshers with strong hands-on skills and willingness to work outdoors can also be considered.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
