Technical Writer(Remote) for a US based co in Pune

About the Role We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to own and improve technical documentation for our software and hardware products. This role bridges the gap between engineering teams and end users, ensuring that complex technical concepts are communicated clearly, accurately, and effectively. The ideal candidate has a passion for technology, strong writing skills, and experience working with both software and hardware development teams. The candidate enjoys explaining hard technology and writing an occasional blog post about it. Role and Responsibility ● Own technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, API documentation, release notes, SOPs, and technical specifications. ● Work closely with engineers, developers, product managers, and support teams to gather information and understand products in-depth. ● Translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for a variety of audiences (e.g., end users, developers, internal teams). ● Create and enforce documentation standards for consistency across platforms. ● Participate in product development lifecycle activities to proactively identify documentation needs. ● Create diagrams, schematics, and other visual aids to support written content. ● Review and edit documentation created by other team members for clarity, accuracy, and completeness. ● Manage version control and ensure documentation is up-to-date with the latest product releases. ● Support onboarding and training materials development when needed Candidate Profile- Requirements ● 10+ years of experience as a technical writer in fast-paced tech environments. ● Strong understanding of both software and hardware systems. ● Familiarity with documentation tools such as Confluence, Markdown, DITA, MadCap Flare, or similar platforms. ● Ability to read and interpret source code, technical drawings, hardware schematics, and API specifications. ● Excellent written and verbal communication skills. ● Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. ● Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams Show more Show less
