Job Description

As a Technical Translator (Japanese-English) & Engineer at Yamaha Motor Solutions India Pvt. Ltd., you will play a crucial role in bridging the communication gap between Japanese and English-speaking teams. Your primary responsibilities will include translating technical documents, manuals, and engineering specifications while ensuring that complex technical information is conveyed accurately and effectively. You will also collaborate with engineering teams to support project development and ensure that language barriers do not affect productivity. This position requires a deep understanding of both technical engineering concepts and linguistic nuances to produce precise translations that adhere to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Translate technical documents, user manuals, and specifications from Japanese to English and vice versa. - Collaborate with engineers to understand and accurately convey complicated technical information. - Review and edit translations for accuracy, clarity, and consistency. - Assist in the localization of products and marketing materials for different markets. - Participate in technical meetings and provide translation support as needed. - Maintain translation memory and glossaries to ensure consistency across documents. - Keep abreast of industry trends and advancements to maintain technical vocabulary.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient in Japanese and English with strong verbal and written communication skills. - Bachelor s degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred. - Proven experience in technical translation, preferably in the automotive or motor vehicle industry. - Familiarity with engineering concepts, terminology, and practices. - Strong attention to detail with excellent proofreading skills. - Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Proficiency in translation software and tools is a plus.

Tools Required:

- Translation memory software (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ) - Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) - Online dictionaries and terminology databases for reference.
