Job Overview

As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for driving business growth by combining technical knowledge, sales strategy, and customer engagement. You'll play a crucial role in identifying opportunities, presenting solutions, and closing deals all while working closely with engineering, design, and production teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand and evaluate customer technical requirements from inquiries and drawings.
  • Conduct market research, identify business opportunities, and develop new client relationships.
  • Prepare techno-commercial quotations and submit tender documents.
  • Present product solutions to customers and close sales contracts.
  • Track and follow up on sales leads, quotations, tenders, and order statuses.
  • Collaborate with the design team to clarify and resolve customer technical queries.
  • Manage order registration, coordinate with the plant and update customers on execution.
  • Visit clients regularly for discussions, presentations, and post-order support.
  • Lead and expand the company's customer base across India.
  • Contribute to defining sales strategies, forecasts, and targets.
  • Ensure strong after-sales communication and support for long-term partnerships.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 2-3 years of experience in industrial sales, preferably with valves / pumps/ pipe/ control systems.
  • Knowledge of ball, gate, check, globe, and control valves is essential.
  • Understanding of AutoCAD or 3D modeling software to interpret technical drawings.
  • Strong skills in techno-commercial sales, tender participation, and negotiations.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage pan-India clients.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English, Marathi, or Hindi.
  • Strong interpersonal skills capable of building long-term customer relationships.
  • Proven ability to generate and convert leads, meet monthly targets, and grow accounts.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation, automation, or related industrial products is a plus.

Bonus Skills (Preferred)

  • Experience in working with OEMs, EPC contractors, or industrial consultants.
  • Hands-on involvement in product demonstrations, field visits, and B2B selling.
  • Familiarity with emerging markets and customer acquisition strategies.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing business environments and startup dynamics.
