Job Description

As a Technical Purchase Assistant at Indiano Chrome Private Limited, you will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process for spares, consumables, equipment, and project-related materials. Your responsibilities will include: - Managing procurement of spares, consumables, equipment, and project-related materials to meet production and maintenance requirements. - Expediting purchase processes to ensure the uninterrupted supply of critical materials. - Reviewing and evaluating technical specifications, drawings, and BOMs to identify appropriate materials. - Preparing and issuing RFQs, purchase orders, and contracts in accordance with company guidelines. - Developing and maintaining a reliable vendor database, particularly for engineering and steel-related supplies. - Conducting vendor negotiations to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely deliveries. - Tracking delivery schedules and resolving any supply chain delays through follow-ups. - Ensuring accurate documentation, including purchase orders, GRNs, inspection reports, and invoices. - Coordinating with maintenance, production, and stores teams to align procurement activities with requirements. - Monitoring and reviewing inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstocking. - Identifying opportunities for cost reduction, alternate sourcing, and process improvement. Key Skills & Competencies required for this role include: - Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and consumable spares in manufacturing/steel plants. - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and datasheets. - Excellent understanding of procurement processes, vendor development, and commercial terms. - Strong negotiation, communication, and documentation skills. - Proficiency in SAP/ERP systems/MS Office for procurement and reporting. - Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills under time-sensitive situations. - Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Qualifications & Experience needed for this position are: - B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Production Engineering (preferred). - MBA in Supply Chain/Materials Management will be an added advantage. - 5-6 years of proven experience in technical procurement, vendor management, and project procurement, preferably in manufacturing/steel industries. You will be evaluated based on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as: - Cost savings achieved through negotiation and alternate sourcing. - Reduction in procurement cycle time. - Vendor performance in terms of quality, delivery reliability, and flexibility. - Accuracy and completeness of procurement documentation. This is a full-time, permanent position located in person.
