Job Description

Tech Lead - Azure Fabric + Power BI Were looking for a Tech Lead with strong expertise across the Microsoft Azure data stack - including Fabric, Synapse, and Databricks - to lead delivery of scalable, cloud-native data solutions. This is a hands-on role focused on Azure data engineering, with Power BI and Fabric integration as key components of the broader architecture. Experience working with data from platforms like Procore is a plus. You’ll work closely with technical and business stakeholders to lead implementations in the EMEA region (standard business hours). The right candidate brings deep technical judgment, communicates with clarity, and stays grounded in evolving environments. Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric - particularly OneLake, semantic modeling, and Power BI integration workflows - is required. You should be comfortable reviewing and stabilizing existing Fabric workspaces and supporting their migration into enterprise-aligned Azure data lake environments. Strong communication skills are essential, particularly the ability to articulate technical choices and navigate challenging peer discussions across teams. Responsibilities Build and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Databricks Develop Power BI dashboards with strong attention to data modeling, DAX, and Power Query (M) Contribute to the design of semantic models, data marts, and data warehouse structures Integrate data from various sources including SQL databases, APIs, and cloud storage (e.g., Azure Data Lake, OneLake) Implement and maintain standards around data quality, security, and governance Participate in discussions with cross-functional teams to ensure that technical solutions align with business needs Support CI/CD processes for data workflows using Git, Azure DevOps, or similar tools Assist in real-time and event-driven data processing using tools such as Event Hubs, Kafka, or equivalents Drive usage of Microsoft Fabric features within modern data architectures, especially OneLake, Lakehouse, and Direct Lake Power BI datasets Stabilize and transition existing Fabric and Power BI assets into centrally governed Azure environments Build trust with distributed teams and operate with clarity and calm under pressure Qualifications 5+ years of experience in data engineering with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure Practical experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and Azure SQL Advanced Power BI development skills, including DAX, Power Query, and visual/report design Strong SQL proficiency, including performance optimization and query tuning Extensive, hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric – including Lakehouse architecture, OneLake storage design, semantic modeling, and Power BI integration best practices Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and OneLake Understanding of Power BI Premium licensing models and workspace-level administration Experience with Python or Scala for data processing is preferred Exposure to CI/CD workflows and DevOps practices in a data engineering context Comfortable working in agile, collaborative environments with distributed teams Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including navigating feedback and technical disagreements within peer groups Microsoft certifications such as PL-300, DP-203, or DP-500 are preferred Proven ability to work constructively with assertive stakeholders and resolve technical disagreements professionally Experience guiding the transition of reporting environments from team-owned or ad hoc setups to centralized, IT-governed architectures
