Role Overview

The Technical Instructional Designer will play a critical role in designing and delivering high-impact, learner-centric digital and blended learning programs across NIITs portfolio. This role requires a strong balance of instructional design expertise, technical domain understanding, and digital learning innovation.

You will work closely with SMEs, learning architects, product managers, and technology teams to transform complex technical content into structured, engaging, and measurable learning experiences aligned with NIITs learning frameworks and global standards.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Design & Learning Architecture

• Design end-to-end instructional solutions for digital, blended, VILT, and ILT programs across domains such as Cybersecurity, Cloud, Data Science, BFSI, Software Development, and Emerging Technologies.
  Apply adult learning principles, experiential learning, scenario-based learning, and assessment-driven design to ensure effective skill transfer.
• Define clear learning objectives, content flow, assessments, and evaluation metrics aligned with business and learner needs.

Content Structuring & Development

• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to analyze, structure, and simplify complex technical concepts.
• Develop instructional storyboards, learning paths, scripts, assessments, case studies, simulations, and hands-on lab guidance.
• Ensure instructional accuracy, consistency, and pedagogical soundness across all learning assets.

Digital Learning & Technology Enablement

• Design learning experiences aligned with SCORM, xAPI, and NIITs internal quality frameworks.
• Work hands-on with authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Rise, Captivate, or equivalent platforms.
• Leverage AI-enabled tools, GenAI, automation, and emerging learning technologies to improve learner engagement, personalization, and delivery efficiency.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Governance

• Partner with product, delivery, faculty, sales, and operations teams to ensure smooth program rollout.
• Participate in instructional reviews and quality assurance cycles.
• Manage feedback loops and ensure timely revisions and improvements.
  

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• Analyze learner feedback, completion data, and assessment outcomes to enhance learning effectiveness.
• Stay current with trends in instructional design, learning science, edtech, and AI-driven learning models.
• Contribute to best practices, templates, and reusable learning design frameworks.

Education & Experience

Education:

• Graduate or Postgraduate in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Sciences, English, Journalism, Mass Communication, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience:

• 4-5 years of hands-on experience in instructional design, digital learning design, or technical learning development, preferably in EdTech, corporate learning, or education organizations.
• Proven experience designing technical or professional skills programs for digital and blended formats.
• Working experience with LMS/LXP platforms and digital learning ecosystems.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong grounding in instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM, or equivalent).
• Ability to translate complex technical content into clear, engaging, and outcome-oriented learning experiences.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
