Technical Coordinator

As a Design Coordinator at WSP India, your role involves coordinating and managing the flow of technical information between design teams at GCC and ME. You will facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure that design solutions are fully integrated and compliant with project objectives, regulatory requirements, and relevant standards. Your responsibilities will include preparing, reviewing, and maintaining project documentation, organising and leading technical meetings, workshops, and design reviews, and monitoring design progress to identify and address technical risks, clashes, or issues as they arise. You will also support the Project Manager in programme management, reporting, and delivery of key project milestones, ensure that all technical deliverables are produced to the agreed quality, within budget and timescales, and champion best practices in digital design, BIM coordination, and use of collaborative software platforms. Additionally, you will assist with value engineering exercises, technical appraisals, maintain a register of technical queries, design changes, and approvals, produce and manage RFI schedules and responses, and assist in developing technical delivery processes to improve efficiency and quality. You will also be responsible for monitoring design progress, coordinating with the construction and commercial teams, performing site checks to ensure design compliance and quality of execution, producing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and enforcing QEMS (Quality, Environmental, Management System) standards. Qualifications required for this role include a Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline, along with 7 to 10 years of experience in infrastructure design management, preferably with consultancy and contractor exposure. You should have proven experience coordinating multi-disciplinary design teams, ideally on large-scale infrastructure projects, excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of infrastructure design processes, standards, and regulatory frameworks, proficiency in digital design tools and collaborative platforms, ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure, keen attention to detail, a commitment to quality assurance, and a problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to technical challenges.
