Job Title: Technical Assistant to the Chief Engineer Infrastructure, Campus Operations & Estate Development

Job Purpose:

To assist the Chief Engineer in overseeing technical operations, project supervision, and administrative coordination related to campus infrastructure, ensuring efficient functioning, compliance, and seamless service delivery across the university.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Chief Engineer in planning, monitoring, and executing infrastructure and maintenance projects across the campus.
  • Coordinate with technical teams handling electrical, HVAC, solar, and water systems to ensure smooth operation.
  • Assist in tracking AMC renewals, preventive maintenance schedules, and vendor performance.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, project reports, checklists, and compliance records.
  • Facilitate coordination between departments, contractors, and government agencies for licensing, safety, and inspection requirements.
  • Support civil and retrofitment projects for classrooms, offices, and new facilities.
  • Assist in procurement and billing processes by preparing technical inputs, verifying measurements, and maintaining cost records.
  • Monitor daily campus operations, report breakdowns, and follow up on timely rectification.
  • Contribute to planning and logistics during VIP visits, audits, and university events.
  • Ensure that all systemsfire safety, water, and power—operate in compliance with safety and statutory norms.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering systems.
  • Knowledge of large-campus infrastructure, energy systems, and maintenance management.
  • Excellent coordination, reporting, and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and project documentation tools.
  • Strong analytical and communication abilities with a proactive approach.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Experience in campus operations, facility management, or institutional infrastructure preferred.

Work Environment:

The position requires active on-ground supervision, regular site visits, and close coordination with engineering teams to ensure 247 campus readiness and operational excellence.
