Job Description

Role Overview: As a Technical Advisor at KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS), you will be an integral part of the electrical engineering team. Your primary role will involve designing electrical systems for industries such as oil and gas, power, and renewable energies. Whether it be conceptual studies, front-end engineering design (FEED), or design execution, you will oversee the procurement of equipment and detailed drawings for facility construction and commissioning. Key Responsibilities: - Participate in projects from concept to detailed design, construction, testing, and handover. - Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary project team comprising engineers from various specialisms like mechanical, structural, civil, and instrumentation, while engaging with clients and contractors. - Lead the design of electrical systems to meet specified requirements, emphasizing cost, schedule, safety, reliability, and quality. - Apply relevant codes and standards to the design of electrical systems. - Design electrical systems and equipment such as HV and LV switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, and variable speed drives. - Develop, interpret, and review philosophies, design specifications, data sheets, schematics, and layout drawings for onshore and offshore oil and gas installations. - Estimate and plan man-hours for scopes of work. - Engineer solutions for extreme environments with temperature ranges from -50 to +50 degrees. - Conduct meetings, prepare reports, and deliver presentations. - Prepare technical specifications, design basis, and data sheets for electrical equipment. - Perform design calculations for transformer, switchgear, emergency diesel generator (EDG), battery, UPS, lighting, earthing, and lightning protection. - Familiarity with single-line diagrams, protection and metering drawings, schematic diagrams, load lists, cable schedules, and interconnection schedules. - Develop all plant layouts including substation equipment layout. - Review vendor drawings of electrical equipment. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with 15 to 20 years of experience. - Proficiency in electrical engineering software such as ETAP, SKM, AGi32, Aveva Electrical Engineering, and SPEL. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, refinery, Offshore, and Utilities & Offsites industries.
