Tech Lead - Data Management

Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran

The Tech Lead will act as the primary coordination point for India resources, ensuring consistent communication, high-quality execution, and smooth collaboration with US-based architects, project managers, and client stakeholders. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical expert who can guide teams, resolve delivery challenges, and maintain strong cross-geography alignment.

Key Responsibilities

Client & Project Leadership

• Serve as the single coordination point for India-based resources supporting the client.
  
• Align workstreams with US project managers, architects, and stakeholders.
  
• Support requirement clarification, sprint planning, and backlog grooming.
  
• Provide updates on progress, risks, dependencies, and timelines.
  
• Ensure smooth communication and handoff across time zones.
  

Technical Leadership & Execution

• Lead the design and development of

  Snowflake

  -based data solutions.
• Oversee

  dbt ELT models

  and

  Fivetran ingestion pipelines

  .
• Guide the team on data modeling, SQL best practices, and cloud patterns.
  
• Review queries, dbt models, pipelines, and documentation for quality.
  
• Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve delivery blockers quickly.
  
• Enforce data governance, security, and compliance standards.
  

Delivery Oversight & Quality

• Ensure deliverables meet client expectations and follow established standards.
  
• Monitor adherence to best practices and architectural guidelines.
  
• Coordinate testing, validation, deployments, and releases.
  
• Maintain coding standards, documentation, and technical procedures.
  

Team Coordination & Mentorship (No People Management)

• Provide hands-on mentorship, pairing, and technical coaching.
  
• Support knowledge sharing and consistent delivery practices.
  
• Guide junior engineers and analysts on best practices and problem-solving.
  

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with US leads on architecture and long-term roadmaps.
  
• Participate in practice-wide knowledge sharing and reusable asset development.
  
• Provide input to Practice Directors on staffing needs and future planning.
  

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

• 7–10+ years in data engineering/analytics.
  
• 5+ years with

  Snowflake

  (design, optimization, administration).
• 3+ years with

  dbt

  and

  Fivetran

  .
• Strong SQL, ELT/ETL workflows, and cloud data modeling.
  
• Experience integrating Snowflake with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
  
• Familiarity with Python, Airflow, and AWS/Azure/GCP.
  
• Experience with data governance, metadata, and security implementations.
  

Leadership & Delivery Skills

• Proven experience guiding technical teams in client-facing environments.
  
• Strong coordination, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical tasks.
  
• Excellent communication skills for cross-geography collaboration.
