About the Role

Lead Backend Engineer (Node.js)


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and guide a team of Node.js developers.
  • Architect, design, and develop scalable backend services and microservices.
  • Write, review, and optimize code while enforcing best practices and coding standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver robust solutions.
  • Handle complex technical challenges, performance tuning, and system optimization.
  • Drive sprint planning, task allocation, and timely project delivery.
  • Ensure backend systems meet security, reliability, and scalability standards.
  • Experience with

    Next.js

    is a plus.


Required Skills & Experience

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in Node.js, including team leadership.
  • Strong proficiency in

    JavaScript and TypeScript

    .
  • Experience with

    Express.js / NestJS / Fastify

    frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of

    SQL & NoSQL databases

    (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
  • Hands-on experience with

    microservices architecture

    , messaging systems (

    Kafka / RabbitMQ

    ), and caching (

    Redis

    ).
  • Working knowledge of

    CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes
