Team Lead Credit Underwriter

As a Team Lead- Credit Underwriter, your role involves leading and managing the credit and risk team to ensure smooth day-to-day functioning. You will be responsible for analyzing credit and risk data to derive meaningful insights and preparing presentations for stakeholders and management. It is crucial to approach credit and risk assessment from a business-integrated perspective beyond traditional underwriting practices. Collaboration with sales, operations, and other departments is essential to support end-to-end process alignment. You will also handle team escalations, internal conflicts, and coordinate with field sales personnel to resolve issues effectively. Reviewing and understanding credit policies and processes for policy adherence while remaining flexible to business needs is part of your responsibilities. Your role will require you to take independent calls on business requirements, balancing risk and growth objectives, and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives by identifying gaps and proposing practical solutions. Additionally, drafting professional emails, Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), policy proposals, and other formal communication will be part of your daily tasks. Qualification Required: - Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred). - Minimum 5 years of experience in Credit Underwriting, preferably in NBFCs, Banks, or Fintech companies in unsecured (CL, PL) lending. - Familiarity with risk mitigation practices and business lending environments.
