Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation: Assist in preparing ingredients for tandoor cooking, including portioning, chopping, washing, and mixing ingredients and marinades.
  • Tandoor Operation: Learn to operate and maintain the tandoor oven safely under supervision, ensuring correct temperatures are maintained.
  • Cooking Assistance: Support senior chefs (Commis I, Commis II, Chef de Partie) in preparing and cooking a variety of tandoori items such as naans, rotis, kebabs, and tikkas, following specific recipes and presentation standards.
  • Quality Control: Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring all dishes meet the restaurant's standards.
  • Hygiene and Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work station at all times, adhering to all health and safety regulations and food safety protocols.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with stock monitoring, accepting deliveries, proper storage, and rotation of food products to minimize waste and optimize resources.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Collaborate effectively with the kitchen team, communicate assistance needed during busy periods, and follow all instructions from senior chefs.
  • Flexibility: Be prepared to assist in other sections of the kitchen or perform other duties as requested by superiors when required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a culinary certificate from a recognized institution is a plus.
  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience in a kitchen environment, preferably with some exposure to Indian cuisine or tandoor operations.
  • Skills:
  • Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and ingredients.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, heated environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn and a passion for the culinary arts.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.

Job Types: Full-time, Fresher

Pay: ₹10,500.00 - ₹13,000.00 per month
