Tandoor Chef – Commi 2 (Junior Level)Position Summary

As a Commi 2 in the Tandoor section, you’ll support senior chefs in preparing and cooking traditional Indian tandoori dishes. This entry-level role is perfect for someone with basic culinary knowledge and a strong interest in mastering tandoor techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing tandoori items such as naan, roti, kebabs, and grilled meats.
• Follow instructions from Commi 1 and CDP to ensure consistency and quality.
• Help with marination, mise en place, and ingredient prep for tandoor dishes.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the tandoor station and equipment.
• Monitor tandoor oven temperature and assist in its operation.
• Ensure food safety standards are followed at all times.
• Support in receiving, storing, and organizing kitchen supplies.
• Cooperate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during busy hours.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by senior chefs.

Qualifications & Skills

• Basic culinary education or prior kitchen experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Indian spices and tandoor cooking methods.
• Ability to follow recipes and kitchen protocols.
• Good physical stamina and ability to work in high-heat environments.
• Strong attention to hygiene and food safety.
• Team player with a willingness to learn and grow.

Work Environment

• Hot kitchen setting with exposure to tandoor heat.
• Requires standing for long hours and working in shifts.
• Weekend and holiday availability may be required.
