Tandoor Chef – Commi 1 (Entry-Level)Position Overview

As a Commi 1 specializing in Tandoor, you’ll be part of the kitchen brigade assisting senior chefs in preparing authentic Indian dishes, especially those cooked in a tandoor oven. This role is perfect for someone with foundational culinary skills and a passion for Indian flavors.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing tandoori items like naan, roti, chicken tikka, paneer tikka, and kebabs.
• Operate and maintain the tandoor oven safely and efficiently.
• Follow recipes and instructions from senior chefs to ensure consistency.
• Prepare marinades and spice blends under supervision.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the tandoor section.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the chef de partie or sous chef.
• Ensure timely preparation and plating of dishes during service.
• Support other kitchen sections when needed.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Indian spices and tandoor cooking techniques.
• Previous experience in an Indian kitchen is a plus.
• Good knife skills and food preparation techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to hygiene.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Work Environment

• Hot kitchen setting with exposure to high temperatures from the tandoor.
• Requires physical stamina and ability to stand for long hours.
• Shift-based work, including weekends and holidays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From ₹20,000.00 per month
