Systems Engineer – Cloud Operations

You will play a key role in provisioning resources, addressing performance issues, and ensuring smooth operations while collaborating across teams to maintain a secure and scalable cloud environment.

Responsibilities

• Provision and maintain GCP cloud resources while adhering to scalability and security best practices
• Ensure proper management of GKE clusters, container OS upgrades, and patching activities
• Execute onboarding processes and updates using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
• Monitor logs and metrics to identify performance and availability issues, performing initial diagnosis and escalating as needed
• Troubleshoot recurring issues and drive the development of automation and runbooks for faster response times
• Enforce backup schedules, validate restoration processes, and resolve backup-related issues
• Support access management processes, troubleshoot permissions issues, and assist with tagging compliance
• Implement automation initiatives for tagging enforcement and resource monitoring
• Collaborate with customer teams to resolve infrastructure-related challenges and provide actionable insights
• Maintain and create operational manuals, runbooks, and scripts to enhance knowledge management

Requirements

• 4-5 years of experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud environments, including provisioning and maintenance
• Expertise in tools like Terraform and familiarity with cloud monitoring and troubleshooting methodologies
• Understanding of governance processes, tagging frameworks, and access management principles
• Basic knowledge of containerized environments such as GKE or Docker alongside patch management processes
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
• Proficiency in creating documentation for operational runbooks and processes
• Capability to work shifts as required
