System Support Engineer

The Data Centre System Support Engineer in Managed Services will be stationed at the Data Centre in Hyderabad and will be responsible for managing daily operational activities, tagging hardware, monitoring and supporting system software, and coordinating with the central team in Kolkata for escalations. As the first line of support for onsite issue resolution, the candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the data centre. Key Responsibilities: - Performing daily system health checks and reporting any anomalies. - Conducting hardware tagging, inventory tracking, and updating records regularly. - Handling basic system software support, configuration, patching, and minor bug fixes. - Monitoring hardware configuration, logs, and events, and reporting any issues. - Acting as the first point of contact for onsite technical issues. - Escalating unsolved issues, bugs, or anomalies to the central Kolkata support team promptly. - Coordinating with vendors or OEMs for hardware-level issues if necessary. - Maintaining documentation related to configurations, updates, and incident logs. - Adhering to data centre compliance and security policies. - Providing support during audits, upgrades, or migrations as required. Required Skills and Qualifications: - Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. - 1-3 years of experience in system support, IT operations, or data centre management. - Good understanding of Linux and Windows server environments, basic networking, and hardware. - Familiarity with ticketing tools, documentation systems, and escalation procedures. - Ability to perform basic troubleshooting on servers, network devices, and storage. - Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate with remote teams. - Willingness to work in shifts or on-call as required. Preferred: - Experience with data centre environments. - Exposure to ITIL processes, ISO-compliant data centres, or NOC operations. - Basic knowledge of system monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix) or log analysis.,
