Job Description

  • The Associate Student Welfare Services will play a pivotal role in fostering a supportive, inclusive, and engaging environment for students
  • This individual will be responsible for implementing welfare initiatives, managing student grievances, supporting mental health and well-being programs, and facilitating access to essential student resources and services
  • The role demands empathy, strong interpersonal skills, and a proactive attitude toward enhancing the overall student experience

Key Responsibilities:

Student Support Services:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for student welfare inquiries.
  • Facilitate access to mental health and counseling resources.
  • Provide guidance on academic and non-academic support systems.
  • Welfare Program Implementation:

    • Assist in designing and executing programs aimed at enhancing student well-being, including orientation, wellness workshops, awareness campaigns, and peer support initiatives.
    • Coordinate with internal departments and external agencies to deliver these programs effectively.
  • Grievance Management:

    • Receive, document, and escalate student complaints and concerns to relevant departments.
    • Track resolution progress and ensure timely and appropriate responses.
  • Communication Outreach:

    • Develop and disseminate student welfare materials such as newsletters, policy briefs, and event promotions.
    • Manage communication channels including email, social media, and welfare portals.
  • Event Planning and Coordination:

    • Organize student welfare events, awareness days, and training sessions.
    • Collaborate with student bodies and clubs for inclusive engagement.
  • Data Management Reporting:

    • Maintain records of student cases, participation in welfare activities, and feedback.
    • Assist in preparing periodic reports and presentations on welfare metrics and outcomes.

    Key Requirements:

    • Education:

      Bachelors degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or related field. A Masters degree is preferred.
    • Experience:

      1-3 years of relevant experience in student affairs, counseling, or administrative support in an educational environment.

    Skills:

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
    • Organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with student information systems is a plus.

    Preferred Attributes:

    • Experience working with young adults in educational settings.
    • Awareness of mental health issues and student welfare trends.
    • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
