Surface Treatment Technician

Responsibilities:

1. Preparation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for chemical treatment of various metallic components based on ASTM standards.

2. Perform chemical surface treatment procedures on metallic components based on SOPs.

3. Meeting deadlines for surface treatment requests to ensure smooth product development workflow.

4. Organized documentation of every chemical treatment task along with observations.

5. Investigate causes of material and propose corrective actions.

6. Maintain inventory of chemicals, equipment, consumables and components.

7. Collaborate with engineers and researchers to improve chemical processes and techniques to enhance efficiency and product quality.

8. Adhere to the safety protocols and ensure compliance with environmental and workplace safety regulations.

9. Collaborate with team members, engineers, and management to communicate project progress and findings effectively.

Skills required :

Technical Skills

· Basic knowledge on properties, behaviour, and characteristics of various metals and alloys.

· Basic knowledge on chemical treatment processes (passivation, alkaline etching, pickling, anodization, electropolishing, etc.) of materials

· Basic knowledge on chemical treatment methods (ultrasonication, immersion, spraying, etc.) to perform above-mentioned processes

· Capable of identifying and resolving metallurgical issues and defects through systematic problem-solving methods.

Other Skills:

· Good verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information clearly and collaborate with team members.

· Good task planning skills to ensure deadlines are met.

· Willingness to learn new techniques, adapt to changing project requirements, and work in diverse environments.

· A natural curiosity and desire to explore metallurgical concepts and technologies related to aerospace materials
