Role Overview: As a member of TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Team, your primary role will involve developing and implementing multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers, and parts/services. You will work towards achieving established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price, and service. Your responsibilities will include aligning strategy and execution with cross-functional partners, such as engineering, manufacturing, product management, and functional owners. Additionally, you will be involved in executing competitive bids, negotiations, contracting processes, and technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services. Your expertise in procurement competencies will be crucial in ensuring results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities: - Source new projects for raw materials, parts & tools by analyzing engineering drawings & bill of materials - Carry out cost modeling to identify highest cost contributors and propose suitable changes for cost advantage - Drive make or buy plan and define strategies for new sourcing needs considering product requirements - Build internal should costing models for all new parts and manage procurement procedures - Evaluate techno-commercial proposals, negotiate with suppliers, and draft contract agreements - Present business cases to the Sourcing Committee for approval and define detailed time plans for projects - Regularly review development with suppliers to meet time to market targets and ensure project milestones are intact - Define supplier base gap proactively in line with product portfolio updates Qualifications Required: - BE/ B. Tech (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics) from a Govt. recognized university - Minimum 10 years of experience as a Strategic Sourcing Buyer within the Automotive or Electronics industry - Proven hands-on experience in the development of mechanical and electronic components - Strong technical acumen combined with solid commercial negotiation skills - Excellent understanding of cost structures, manufacturing processes, and quality standards - Effective leadership, team management, and cross-functional collaboration skills - Experience in working with multi-disciplinary cross-functional global teams - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills - High emotional intelligence and resilience in high-pressure negotiations - Ability to coach and inspire team members through clear feedback and supportive leadership Company Details: TE Connectivity plc (NYSE: TEL) is a global industrial technology leader creating a safer, sustainable, productive, and connected future.
