SN Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role
1 Install, configure, and manage Amazon RDS (Aurora, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server). 2 Perform routine database administration tasks including patching, upgrades, and maintenance. 3 Monitor database health, performance, and availability using CloudWatch, Performance Insights, and Enhanced Monitoring. 4 Implement high availability solutions (Multi-AZ, Read Replicas) and design disaster recovery strategies. 5 Manage database backups, snapshots, and point-in-time recovery. 6 Optimize database performance through indexing, partitioning, and query tuning. 7 Enforce database security with IAM integration, parameter groups, KMS encryption, and audit logging. 8 Support migration of on-premise or other cloud databases to AWS RDS using AWS DMS or native tools.
