Job Description

As the Quality Engineer, your main responsibility is to determine appropriate inspection processes and lead IQC personnel in executing day-to-day activities. You will play a crucial role in leading the containment and resolution of supplier quality issues with manufacturers and effectively communicate the status on non-conforming parts/suppliers across all programs. Your role also involves evaluating supplier performance, driving supplier improvements, and implementing corrective actions through the SCAR process. You will be tasked with defining, developing, and implementing supply base strategies that drive improvements in supplier selection, development, and leverage across customer programs for quality enhancements and cost savings. Providing regular updates to the Quality Engineering Manager on the strategy execution and supporting NPI activities by participating in the AQP process are also key responsibilities. Additionally, you will ensure that all production critical supplier issues are resolved promptly and that appropriate corrective actions are implemented. Defining and developing inspection plans, methods, and processes, as well as monitoring and driving PPM issues with the supply base, will be essential aspects of your role. You will also be responsible for reviewing all supplier discrepancies, coordinating corrective/preventative action efforts, and proactively communicating information or issues that may impact product costs or manufacturability to relevant departments. Furthermore, you will lead the SCAR Supplier Corrective/Preventive Action process for problem resolution and continuous improvement, including critical analysis of supplier studies. Adhering to safety and health regulations, as well as complying with all company security policies, is crucial. You will also serve as a Site RoHS subject matter expert and may be required to perform other duties as assigned. In terms of qualifications, a strong background in electro/mechanical operations is desired, along with knowledge of various manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding, metal stampings, metal fabrication, machining, and electrical components. Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, as well as skills in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project, are necessary. Understanding quality systems, regulatory requirements, and proficiency in using personal computers and Microsoft Office products are also key requirements. To be considered for this role, a Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Engineering, along with 3-5 years of experience in Quality or Manufacturing Engineering.
