Supervisor - Printing Division

Job Description

The Printing Division Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the printing division, focusing on UV or 1 over 1 perfecting printing processes. The supervisor ensures that production teams meet safety protocols, adhere to quality standards, and follow production schedules. This role involves managing machine operation, optimizing efficiency, troubleshooting, and ensuring the overall performance of printing equipment. Key Responsibilities: Team Management & Coordination: Supervise machine operators, assistant operators, and feeders. Assign tasks and prioritize to meet production targets. Conduct regular meetings to discuss production goals, quality issues, and troubleshooting needs. Machine Operation Oversight: Monitor UV or 1 over 1 perfecting printing machines to ensure high-quality output. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to machines or print quality. Optimize machine settings for efficiency and minimal downtime. Quality Control: Ensure compliance with print quality standards, including UV ink curing and 1 over 1 print accuracy. Perform quality checks on color consistency, print registration, and more. Provide feedback and corrective measures to operators for quality issues. Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules for minimal machine downtime. Train operators on routine machine maintenance. Work with the maintenance team on resolving complex mechanical issues. Production Scheduling & Efficiency: Ensure production goals are met by monitoring machine performance and material usage. Track production output to ensure timely completion with quality consistency. Continuously assess and improve operational efficiency to minimize downtime and reduce waste. Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and operational procedures for a safe working environment. Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with environmental regulations regarding UV inks and chemicals. Training & Development: Train operators and assistants on best practices, machine operation, and safety standards. Keep the team updated on new technologies and industry trends in UV and 1 over 1 perfecting printing techniques. Skills & Qualifications: Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Printing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Certifications or specialized training in UV and 1 over 1 perfecting printing is a plus. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in the printing industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role (experience working in rotational Shifts). Experience with UV and 1 over 1 perfecting printing processes is preferred. Technical Skills: Knowledge of printing machines, UV curing systems, and perfecting printing processes. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities for printing machinery. Soft Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
