Student Counselor

Job Description: As a Student Counselor at UpCarrera Education Pvt Ltd in Kochi, you will play a crucial role in guiding students towards suitable educational and career paths. Your responsibilities will include counseling students on academic programs, assisting in admissions, and providing career guidance to help them make well-informed decisions. You will have the opportunity to interact with students, parents, and educational institutions to facilitate a smooth transition. Key Responsibilities: - Counsel students and parents on various courses, career options, and admission procedures. - Assist students in choosing educational programs that match their interests, aptitude, and career aspirations. - Provide information on universities, colleges, entrance exams, scholarships, and eligibility criteria. - Support students throughout the application and admission process, including document verification and submission. - Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address student queries effectively. - Establish and nurture relationships with schools, colleges, and educational institutions to enhance collaboration. - Stay updated on the latest trends in education, courses, and job opportunities to provide relevant guidance. - Work towards meeting admission targets as per the directives from management to ensure organizational goals are achieved. Qualifications Required: - Bachelors or Masters degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field. - 1-3 years of experience in roles such as Student Counselor, Admission Consultant, or Career Counselor (Freshers with strong communication skills are also encouraged to apply). - Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English and Malayalam to effectively engage with students and parents. - Ability to guide students and build trust through personalized counseling sessions. - Knowledge of national and international education systems will be advantageous for this role. - Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools to maintain accurate records and enhance productivity.
