Role Overview:

The Structural Designer will be responsible for developing and checking design and construction drawings for structural and outfitting works such as foundations, platforms, helidecks, and living quarters. The role involves working across multiple projects and collaborating with engineers and other designers to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare structural detail drawings and material take-offs based on basic design inputs.
• Act as a design checker to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.
• Develop and maintain 2D drafting packages and 3D models using AutoCAD, PDMS, TEKLA, or AVEVA Marine.
• Conduct periodic model reviews and participate in formal 3D model reviews.
• Review designs for safety, operability, material handling, and maintenance requirements.
• Maintain discipline-specific design guidelines and standards.
• Estimate drawing quantities and develop discipline drawing lists.
• Interpret codes, standards, and vendor requirements for installation specifications.
• Review and comment on vendor drawings to ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Recommend design improvements and integrate lessons learned.
• Support project closeout activities including preparation of as-built documentation.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements, company procedures, and HSES policies.

Qualifications:

• Education:

  ITI in Draftsmanship or Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering.

• Experience:

  Minimum 5–7 years in structural design for offshore/onshore oil & gas facilities or drilling rigs.

• Technical Skills:

  Proficient in AutoCAD for 2D drafting.
• Experience in ShipConstructor or AVEVA Marine for 3D hull modeling.
• Skilled in PDMS and/or TEKLA for 3D modeling of structural and outfitting works.
