Stormwater Management Engineer

hydrologic and hydraulic modeling

Role & responsibilities:

  • Responsible for working with the Design team to develop the end-to-end solution.
  • Familiarity with current market trends and enabling technologies in

    Stormwater Drainage Management System for Infrastructure projects

    .
  • Conduct

    hydrologic and hydraulic modeling

    for drainage networks, detention/retention systems, and flood risk assessments.
  • Apply

    sustainable drainage solutions (SuDS), low impact development (LID), and climate-resilient design

    principles.
  • Experience in Township projects, Industrial projects, Plotted colony, Smart City, Urban development projects etc
  • Experience in Preparation of Concept, Preliminary Engineering, and Detail engineering Reports
  • Willing to travel to project sites in African Region
  • Experienced in ROW Planning and designing Utility Corridors for large scale industrial infrastructure projects and facilities.
  • Coordination with other discipline engineers (Architectural, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical) as applicable
  • Preparation of the Detailed technical specification & Bill of Quantity for Infrastructure projects.
  • Preparation of the schematic/concept/detail engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of international codes & standards such as IS Codes, CPHEEO, National Building codes, IRC, ASTM, AASTHO, etc.,
  • Knowledge of European Standards, French Standards (NF), British Standards (BS) etc. is preferred
  • Experience in the hydraulic design of Water Storage such as GSLR , ESLR
  • Understanding operation and maintenance aspects of water and wastewater infrastructure

Preferred candidate profile:

  • Bachelors degree in

    Civil Engineering, Water Resources, or Environmental Engineering

    (Masters preferred).
  • 5 years of experience

    in stormwater management, drainage design, or hydrologic/hydraulic modelling and experience in Civil Engineering consultancy
  • Knowledge of

    African hydrological conditions, rainfall data interpretation, and drainage design practices

    .
  • Experience coordinating with

    multinational teams

    and

    remote project stakeholders

    .
  • Strong technical writing, presentation, and client communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality outputs under tight timelines.

Technical and Software Skills:

Hydrology and Hydraulics Tools:

  • SWMM / PCSWMM
  • HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS (1D/2D)
  • StormCAD, CivilStorm, or InfoWorks ICM

Design and Drafting Tools:

  • AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Bentley OpenFlows or equivalent

GIS and Spatial Analysis:

  • ArcGIS / QGIS for catchment delineation, flood mapping, and spatial planning integration

Analytical and Support Tools:

  • Microsoft Excel (advanced modeling and data analysis)
