Educational Qualification:

  • Minimum:

    Graduate in any discipline
  • Preferred:

    • BBA in Retail
    • MBA
    • Post Graduate Diploma in Retail Management

Experience:

  • 13 years of experience as a Store Manager in a small-format retail outlet

    or

  • Experience as a Vertical Head in a large-format retail store

Age Range:

Personality Traits:

  • Well-groomed and presentable
  • Proficient in modern retail selling techniques
  • Strong analytical and numerical aptitude

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel as per business needs

Purpose of the Position (Job Summary)

The Store Manager will be responsible for the overall management and performance of the retail outlet. The incumbent will ensure achievement of sales targets, proper stock management, cash handling accuracy, customer satisfaction, hygiene maintenance, and timely resolution of claims and complaints.
He/she will provide effective leadership, guidance, and motivation to the store team to ensure smooth operations and a superior customer experience.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Achieve the stores sales and profitability targets.
  • Ensure accuracy in cash transactions and reconciliation of daily sales and bank deposits.
  • Verify and control daily outlet expenses.

Customer Orientation:

  • Ensure prompt and fair resolution of customer claims and complaints.
  • Guarantee courteous,professional, and consistent customer service for every visitor.

People Management:

  • Lead and motivate store staff to ensure smooth day-to-day functioning.
  • Ensure staff punctuality, adherence to grooming standards, and use of company-provided uniforms.
  • Foster team spirit and a positive work environment.

Internal Business Processes:

  • Maintain optimal stock levels and ensure proper rotation of inventory.
  • Ensure attractive merchandise display and maintain hygiene standards within the store.
  • Prepare and submit accurate daily sales reports, cash summaries, and monthly closing statements.
